If you are an Apple enthusiast like myself, you get excited about the little things: Hot new apps, new cases and holders, and the possibility of cutting a hole in your kitchen cabinet in order to mount you iPad and use it as a wireless sound system for your entire house. Because I love my iPad so very much, I am always excited to see a new operating system come out for it. Unlike Windows, when Apple comes out with an operating system, its like opening the door to a whole new world.
Today, when I opened Social Times, I found this little gem of a video waiting for me (see below). I know its all smoke and mirrors, but I loved it. And I can’t wait to show it to the kids tonight.
In other Apple news, Steve Jobs made an appearance at Apple Inc’s annual developers conference to unveil the new “iCloud” file sharing system. iCloud is a file sharing service that allows you to share all of your data across all of your devices. Translation: If you own an iPad, 2 MacBooks, 2 iPhone 4’s, and a pile of iTouches (yes, I know I have a problem), you can share your contacts, music, and calendars across all devices. Scheduling the kids swimming lessons and making sure everyone gets there just became a bit easier.
iCloud is free and replaces the MobileMe program that no one bothered to use. If you’d like, you can pay iTunes an additional $25 per year to sort through your music via a feature called “iCloud Locker.”
